Hunter Garcia Miranda is a proud fifth-generation Californian, born and raised in the heart of Orange County now working as a California Attorney. Hunter began his legal career working in state and municipal law and policy and is now also works in immigration law in a pro bono capacity. After beginning work in Democratic politics, Hunter quickly realized the party needs voices to challenge the establishment and push for policy that will actually address the root causes of the issues we face, rather than bowing to corporate interests.

Hunter is a California Attorney and earned his Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied Political Science with a focus on American Politics. Hunter credits California’s public school system for laying the foundation of his education and believes strongly in expanding access to high-quality public education for all. His commitment to public education is also personal, many members of his family are teachers, and he has seen firsthand the dedication and impact educators bring to their communities every day, as well as the mounting challenges they face.

Hunter’s family’s legacy of military service spanning generations, instilled the importance of service and giving back to community. His father was drafted to serve in combat during the Vietnam War, and his brother is a combat veteran of the Iraq War. His paternal grandfather served in the South Pacific during World War II, and his maternal grandfather served during the Korean War. His maternal great-grandfather was a Colonel in World War II, in addition to many other members of his family having worn the uniform. This powerful legacy of sacrifice has shaped Hunter’s unwavering belief in honoring and supporting America’s veterans, not only during their service, but throughout their lives.

Hunter is also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and believes in the importance of embracing and empowering indigenous tribal nations throughout the United States. As a lifelong resident of Orange County, Hunter has been enriched by California’s natural beauty, from its coastline to its open spaces. He is a passionate advocate for environmental stewardship, believing that preserving our lands and waters for future generations is both a duty and a moral imperative.

With a deep connection to his community and dedication to justice and public service, Hunter Garcia Miranda is running for Congress because he believes the time is now to challenge the party establishment and put power back in the hands of the American People.
